Dear Quilters,

I am thrilled to offer THE FOLLOWING dates for my “Over The Top” weeklong quilting retreats, in 2013!

March 22-29
April 19-26
May 3-10
May 31st- June 7th
September 6-13
November 15-22

Specific months and weeks have been selected…please register early as I only take a few select students per retreat! I WANT MAXIMIMUM TIME WITH EVERYONE and maximum space for everyone to create abundantly – decadently! I also highly value leisurely meals and opportunities for sharing with one another to enrich our experiences. I want each retreat to be the most memorable quilting event you will ever have!

I HAVE MADE A ANOTHER DECISION TO enhance all of the retreats for 2013.

I AM OFFERING EVERY ONE OF MY WONDERFUL 9 Degree Circle Wedge Ruler classes, at the same time!!! EVERY student will make every possible wedge design, creating 15-22 different fans. Then each student will use their “fans” as desired, with my assistance, guidance and direction…….Everyone will customize their retreat to meet their individual preferences!

The supply list is the same for creating the assorted fans…the supply lists get more details when you decide how you prefer to use the fans; be it as a collage or flowers or butterflies or critters! It is not necessary to chose between Spectacular Fan Sampler, Instant Garden – Just Add Fabric or CRITTERS! You can use your fans do anything preferred or even all three topics!

Dress for celebration!!!!

As you arrive, expect to be briefly greeted by both chefs – Alvin Pack of Green Creek Winery & Marilyn Doheny of Melrose Inn. They have teamed up to provide a spectacular culinary extravaganza. They will be attired for a gala evening, wearing a tuxedo and gown respectively as they greet you and serve champagne.

Plan to socialize with other guests during the appetizer courses featuring Smoked Salmon Cornets and Countreau marinated melon wrapped proscutto.

Once seated, a Cream Cheese bouche followed by an Arugula pear salad with heart beets and parmesan melt will be served.

Followed by a very clever “rabbit & turtle” arrangement – featuring shrimp, crab, lemon and green goddess dressing – designed for pleasure and culinary entertainment.

Next is a lovely taste bud wake up of “world famous”, Gilroy Garlic Soup with cheesy toast point.

A pallet clearing Strawberry Chardonnay Sorbet sets the stage for your entrée.

A hand cut and trimmed petite fillet mignon nestled in a portabello mushroom cap topped with Cabernet sauvignon reduction. Side delights include carved potatoes and asparagus bundles with toasted almonds

A heart shaped chardonnay walnut cake topped with chocolate merlot ice cream and homemade fudge finish the evening!

5 wines will be served – paired with the diverse courses. Champagne, chardonnay, maderia, merlot and Riesling.

Pricing & Reservations

This fabulous dinner is priced at $60 per person which includes the wine pairings, tax and gratuity.  If you’d like to spend the night, the Melrose Inn is offering a tremendous value of $200 for TWO Over the top Valentine’s Dinners, lodging Valentine’s night and a gourmet breakfast the following morning.

Want to get away from it all after the stressful holiday period?  This is the perfect time and place!

You can learn to make a realistic  fabric portrait in this two day workshop with nationally recognized quilter, Marilyn H. Wall.

Marilyn is a nationally known artist making beautiful fabric portraits, nature quilts and wall hangings.   Her work has been exhibited all over the country and she is in continuous demand to teach.

Marilyn will teach how to use a digital  portrait that  students provide into a personalized pattern.  More about this will be explained with the supply list.

You will learn how to make your own pattern using her instructions with Photoshop Elements, which can be downloaded free for 30 days. She also offers a kit and does the work for you if desired. The kit contains the pattern, fabrics and fusible web for a nominal fee of $10.00.  Any beginner will be able to produce a fabric portrait of a loved one or pet in this class.  We encourage you to visit Marilyn’s website at www.marilynwallfiberartist.com.

If desired, a gourmet lunch will be provided each day for those taking this class for  only $10.00.
